Mixers

Mixer for the tired DJ.

This ingenious instrument was designed to allow a disc jockey to ensure a party no matter how tired he is or how much alcohol he has in his system. It is a mixer simplified to the extreme, so that almost “animal” reflexes (the last ones we have left) are enough to ensure a good performance.

The two CD decks must be located opposite each other, on the left and right. To switch the sound from one to the other, you simply flip the big lever. So you always know which deck is playing just by looking at the position of the joystick. This should save you a lot of time-consuming thinking at the end of the evening.

This table has an integrated amplifier with a headphone output. The selection of the right or left input is done by a switch which reproduces the location of the turntables. Again, you don’t have to think about where you are. You can even plug in two small speakers to replace the headphones. This ingenious function, omitted by all mixer manufacturers, allows the DJ to go to the toilet regularly without being held back every time because he forgot his headphones on his head…

A disc jockey duel…

The aim is obviously not to shoot the other. The rule of the duel is the following: each of the two places his music after the other one, and the last piece has to be better than the other one every time. That’s all there is to it.
The two protagonists stand face to face on either side of the room, separated by the raging crowd… Each has his own CD player, but there is only one amp. Each one can cut the other at any time to place his music, the goal being to achieve the most explosive result. The results are funny, because no programme can be made in advance. The other’s last song provokes a response that can never be premeditated.

This mixer has another very important quality that other mixer manufacturers never think about: the escape of confetti. They are always closed, which means that the confetti accumulates (and ends up on the repair shop floor)

This table was inaugurated on the 9th of February 2005 at the Café de la Grenette in an evening that was seismic.
